Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 9, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, what we set on the MedOS marketing website (med-os.in), and how you can control them. It complements our Privacy Policy.
Scope: This policy covers only the marketing website (med-os.in). The MedOS HMS application (app.med-os.in) is covered by our main Privacy Policy and uses only essential authentication cookies — no analytics or tracking cookies are set on the HMS application to protect patient health data under the DPDP Act 2023 and DISHA.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser when you visit a website. They let sites remember information between visits — things like whether you're logged in, your theme preference, or whether you've already dismissed a banner. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others are optional and only set when you agree.
Cookies we set on med-os.in
| Cookie | Purpose | Provider | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| medos_cookie_consent_v1 | Stores your accept/reject decision for this banner | MedOS (first-party) | 180 days | Essential |
| _ga | Distinguishes unique visitors to measure site usage | Google Analytics 4 | 2 years | Analytics (opt-in) |
| _ga_G-9ZDWR4F4TZ | Stores GA4 session state for the MedOS property | Google Analytics 4 | 2 years | Analytics (opt-in) |
Analytics cookies are set only after you click "Accept all" in the consent banner. If you reject or have not yet decided, Google Analytics operates in cookieless ping mode — no cookies are set, and only aggregate, anonymous signals are sent for modeled reporting.
Cookies we explicitly do NOT set
- ❌ Advertising cookies — no Google Ads, no Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight
- ❌ Retargeting / remarketing cookies — none anywhere on the site
- ❌ Third-party tracking pixels — none embedded on the marketing site
- ❌ Cross-site trackers — we do not share cookie data with other domains
MedOS permanently disables Google Ads personalization signals via Google Consent Mode v2 (ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization are all set to denied). This is a healthcare-specific hardening — even if you accept analytics, your browsing data is never used to personalize ads.
Your cookie preferences
Current status
Your decision is stored locally in your browser for 180 days. Changing browsers or clearing site data will prompt the banner again.
Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking "Reject analytics" above, or by clicking "Cookie preferences" in the footer of any page. Withdrawal is as easy as consent — as required by the DPDP Act 2023 (Section 7(5)).
After withdrawal, Google Analytics stops setting new cookies on your next page view. Existing _ga cookies can be deleted manually through your browser's "Clear site data" option, or they will expire naturally (max 2 years).
Your rights under the DPDP Act 2023
- Right to access — request what data we have associated with your browsing
- Right to correction — request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data
- Right to grievance redressal — contact our DPO (below)
- Right to nominate a person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity
